IWCF (Surface – Combined Surface & Subsea)

Course objective

By the end of this training participants will:

Theoretical & Practical Course for surface/ Subsea installation at Driller & Supervisor Levels. The course is designed to enhance the understanding of the fundamentals of well control that can be applied at most well control operations, and to prepare candidates for IWCF testing. In addition, delegates will be able to understand the followings:

Surface/ Subsea Principles & Procedures

  1. Overview
  2. Introduction to Well Control
  3. Barrier Concept
  4. Risk Management
  5. Causes of kicks
  6. Kill Warning Signs and Indicators
  7. Circulating Systems
  8. Fracture Pressure and Maximum Surface/ Subsea pressure
  9. Influx Characteristics and Behaviour
  10. Shut In Procedures
  11. Well Control Methods
  12. Well Control during Casing and Cementing Operations.
  13. Well Control Management
  14. Contingency Planning
  15.

Surface/ Subsea Equipment

  1. Blowout Preventers
  2. Associated Well Control Equipment
  3. Choke Manifold and Chokes
  4. Auxiliary Equipment
  5. Barriers
  6. Testing
  7. BOP Control Systems

Participant profile

Designed for drillers, Assistant Drillers and Drilling Engineers who work onshore/ offshore and who are preparing to attend the certified IWCF course, and/ or those who want a thorough knowledge of well control techniques
